Dear Friends,
SUBJECT: HELP! STOP FDA & NIH'S COVER-UP ABOUT HEALTH DANGERS OF MERCURY AMALGAM
Please take a moment to write or call your US congress member regarding this taxpayer scam - NIH and FDA pick a tobacco industry consultant for a report that will justify the "safety" of Mercury fillings.
Background
The ADA's pro-Mercury fillings cronies at NIH's dental arm, National Institute of Dental &Craniofacial Research, and FDA have been working overtime to keep Congress and the public in the dark about the health risks f Mercury fillings.
In a hush-hush contract involving a straw person intermediary, no competitive bidding, and an undisclosed amount of cash, NIH and FDA made a deal with LSRO, Inc. - a long-time ally of the tobacco companies - to piece together what is supposed to give the appearance of a report on the Mercury in dental amalgam.
After handpicking a committee without a single person who had researched Mercury fillings and bringing on board pro-Mercury hired gun Thomas Clarkson to serve a double role as both participant and "independent" reviewer, LSRO is about to issue its report. It will claim that mercury amalgam fillings are safe.
Life Sciences Research Office (LSRO) is engaged in a scam, a quid quo pro for receiving the gift of this contract from NIH's Norm Braveman (NIDCR) and FDA's Susan Runner (Dental Devices), both ADA handmaidens with a history of skewing the facts about the health risks associated with Mercury fillings. And get this - the payout to LSRO, provided by the American taxpayers, is confidential. The NIH refuses to divulge anything to Congress or the public about the secret financial arrangements. its tobacco industry consultant is equally tight-lipped.
As soon as possible, please write your Members of Congress - House and Senate - about this scam on the children and the taxpayers of America. You can find their names and contact information at www.congress.gov, then go to Quick links - House, and Quick links - Senate.
If you send the letter via e-mail, please cc a
copy to Freya Koss, Director of Development, frekoss@aol.com, who is keeping track of submissions.
