A new economics report The Real Costs of Dental Mercury shows that non-mercury dental fillings are more cost-effective than mercury-based amalgam fillings. Dental mercury pollutes the environment and contaminates fish. The report confirms that once these environmental costs are taken into account, amalgam is far more expensive than the environmentally-responsible alternatives. And the governments, taxpayers, and community members are left to pay the price for dental mercury pollution.
